It's Friday afternoon, school's out, and I have a full week of Spring Break ahead of me! It is such a good feeling!
In the coming week I plan to sleep, stamp, clean, shop, sew, read, visit, and play! And I even hope to blog about it! Hurray!

A Long Weekend!
In honor of President's Day, we've got a four day weekend! What am I doing with my free Friday, you ask?
I'm working on one of my New Year Resolutions...I am going to sew! I am heading to my aunt's house where we will start a fun, simple project. This past summer (when I first decided to start sewing) I bought the supplies for a purse. My aunt found the pattern and said it would be a great project to start with. I learned a fabric term...fat quarter...and bought three of them for my project. Check out these fabrics!
Ooooh, they are so delicious! I love batik fabric and bright colors! I will let you know how it goes!

The Weekend!
It is always so hard to go back to work after a long break. And this Christmas was a looooong one. So I'm looking forward to coming home this evening and knowing that I've got a couple of days to rest, clean, and watch 24...before I have to work again:)
How are you doing with your New Years Resolution? Just curious because, as usual, some of mine are working and others aren't. My bed has been made 6 days out of the 8 days this year. That's good. The idea of working out a lot....not happening. I was doing my yoga and some strength training for two days, but then we bought 24! Oh well, we're almost done with season 4 and then maybe we'll take a break. Haha. Yeah.
Anyway, Happy Friday!

Friday!?!
It seems like Friday has snuck up on us this week! Although...when I think about Monday, it feels so very long ago.
My goal for this weekend is to rest so that my immune system will be able to make it through the next week. And then we'll be on Christmas break!
Here's a picture of my little gingerbread house. I think we were a little too ambitious with the size of our houses. Right now, both gingerbread mansions have collapsed into a pile of sugary rubble. It's sad. But a fun activity while it lasted. We'll have to try something a little different next year.
Maybe this weekend I'll make one of my favorite Christmas cookies to share with y'all!

!por fin, viernes!
It's finally Friday! Um...again.
And it's not like I suffer and hate life all through the week, just trying to make it to the weekend.
Ah, but the weekend! Such a wonderful time in the life of someone that doesn't have homework! (Yes, I'm still enjoying the fact that I'm no longer in college.)
Today is the last day of conference week...which means that most teachers are able to go home when the kids do...right after lunch! We've stayed extra late every night this week. So today after school I am going to meet some of my co-workers at the most delicious Mexican Restaurant in town...Tijuana's.
Once when I was a kid, my aunt and uncle took me on a road trip to San Diego. My sister and a couple of my cousins went, too. And my older, wiser, and hilarious older cousin explained to us kids that Tijuana is the happiest place on earth. I never really understood why, but it is an adage repeated often by my family.
You all thought it was Disney Land, didn't you?! So did I. And to this day I'm still not sure why the border town of Mexico and the Estados Unidos is suppose to be happier than a place filled with flowers and balloons and talking mice and candy.....
Perhaps someday I'll understand. For today, I'll smile at the memory of our family's inside joke, and look forward to some mean chips and salsa with mis amigas.

TGIF!!
Hooray for Friday! I myself am looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend! My parents and littlest sister are driving to my house as we speak...er...type...
And can I just mention that the phrase, "TGIF," brings back tons of childhood memories. I could sing you the whole theme song:
That song meant it was time to watch Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, and maybe even Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Ahhh....childhood.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for owning a T.V. Without your provision, I would never hike up my pants and snort, "Did I do that?" And where would we all be then?
