The Problem

In the last year and a half I have found a new love in my life--blogs. I love to post on blogs, read blogs, reference blogs, quote blogs, and...well maybe that's it.

But the problem with this obsession is that there's always another blog to read. On my favorites list are no less than 10 blogs that I check almost every day. It doesn't take as much time as you might think since not everyone posts every single day. But the problem is that bloggers tend to link to other bloggers, and if I like one blog, chances are I will like the blogs they're linked to.

For example, Ollie's Mom has a blog. I read it, and she's linked to another old friend who has a blog. And she's linked to another blog called Centsational Girl.

Centsational Girl is a thrifty home-decor goddess. She posts all kinds of ideas about how to make your house look fabulous for less. In fact, today she's hosting a giveaway for a new beautiful faucet. Check out her blog to enter!

Another blog I've found through the jungle of links is called Chickpea Sewing Studio. Talk about adorable and inspiring sewing ideas! It makes me want to hide away in the office and talk to no one but my ole' Kenmore.

My aunt recently recommended In Praise of Leftovers, a blog dedicated to food and feeding a family on a budget--gourmet style! There are claims that she has posted the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe...which I have yet to test. But I will. Oh, I will.

Lavender Syrup

Beanball and I spent an afternoon at her house making lavender syrup. It was easy, simple, and delicious! Now I just need to figure out where/when to use it! I'm thinking London Fog Lattes! Or a drizzle on a cheesecake! Or an addition to ice cream! A friend last night suggested lavender whipped cream...

I heart summer

I'm all about sharing my life with you on this blog. Not necessarily my deepest, darkest secrets, but at least the exciting/interesting/mundane things that are going on in my life. This evening I would like to confess something to you. I spent the last week of June reading. Oh, how I enjoyed it. I entered a new world and got sucked right in...and I was happy there. Very happy. However, I am back in the real world now, and ready to share what happened.

Obsession

Over Christmas break, we got the 4th and 5th seasons of 24 on dvd. And now our spare time is spent rooting for the manly Jack Bauer (pictured above) as he saves our country from terrorists. When we were dating el maestro and I watched the entire first season in (almost) one sitting (Gotta love college!). Then when we were engaged, we devoured the second season as well. After each set of episodes, I would need a shoulder rub because my back muscles would get so tense! We watched the third season sometime in the first 6 months of our marriage. I was so glad to have a husband to protect me from all the sneaky bad guys!

We tend to take a nice long break between each 24 binge. Every episode is such a cliff-hanger that it is easy to spend hours on end caught up in the fictional events. I've heard about people that call in sick from work so that they can keep watching...Sometimes it is hard to come back to the real world...but I try. We've been on time to work and the cat's being fed. Suspenseful thriller TV shows can really eat up your free time...
